Discussions concerning this project began when FOBL hosted a community “Meet & Greet” to speak with residents concerning what they would like to see improved along Bayou Lafourche in Assumption Parish. After identifying a primary funding source and receiving the necessary local match commitments, FOBL entered into agreements with the Assumption Parish Police Jury and Assumption Parish School Board to formally proceed with the project which will include enhancements to the Assumption Parish Community Center Bayou-Side Park. The project will include access to the bayou for paddling and fishing along with a bayou-side boardwalk trail that will connect to the existing Napoleonville Pedestrian Bridge.
